چکیده

Healthcare institutions have been outsourcing their IT infrastructure to the cloud. This new paradigm has financial and technological advantages. However, it has also associated some important issues. In the medical imaging field, studies typically involve high volumes of data, leading to increased communication latency in remote access environments. In this context, this paper presents a long-term prefetching solution that dynamically adapts itself to institutional workflows and services. Evaluation tests show that the proposed solution significantly reduces the data access latency.

The potential costs and benefits of long-term prefetching for content distribution

This paper examines the costs and potential benefits of long-term prefetching for content distribution. In contrast with traditional short-term prefetching, in which caches use recent access history to predict and prefetch objects likely to be referenced in the near future, long-term prefetching uses long-term steadystate object access rates and update frequencies to identify objects to replica...

Optical Cloud Pixel Recovery via Machine Learning

Remote sensing derived Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is a widely used index to monitor vegetation and land use change. NDVI can be retrieved from publicly available data repositories of optical sensors such as Landsat, Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectro-radiometer (MODIS) and several commercial satellites. Studies that are heavily dependent on optical sensors are subject to dat...

Application of Information Technology: Problem-oriented Prefetching for an Integrated Clinical Imaging Workstation

Prefetching methods have traditionally been used to restore archived images from picture archiving and communication systems to diagnostic imaging workstations prior to anticipated need, facilitating timely comparison of historical studies and patient management. The authors describe a problem-oriented prefetching scheme, detailing 1) a mechanism supporting selection of patients for prefetching...

Cloud-based Identity and Access Control for Diagnostic Imaging Systems

The evolution of cloud computing is driving the next generation of diagnostic imaging (DI) systems. Migrating DI systems to cloud platform is cost-effective and improves the quality of DI services. However, a major challenge is managing the identity of various participants (users, devices, applications) and ensuring that all service providers offer equivalent access control in cloud ecosystem. ...

Noninvasive Stem Cell Labeling Using USPIO Technique and their Detection with MRI

Background: To date, several imaging techniques to track stem cells are used such as positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), Bioluminescence imaging (BLI), fluorescence imaging, CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Although, overall sensitivity of MRI compared to SPECT and Bioluminescence techniques are lower, but due to high spatial reso...
